Current Events:

  • “Shining Smiles” – February is National Children’s Dental Health Month. To help children learn proper brushing techniques and the importance of good dental health, we offer the Shining Smiles program for kindergarten or 1st grade students. Call now to schedule.

Past Events:

  • Duct Tape a Doc: On August 24-25, 2011, we hosted our 2nd annual “Duct Tape a Doc” fundraiser. The fundraiser was a competition between four local physicians, Drs. Vidal Despradel, Darius Divina,  Audrey Jones, and Joe McElwee, to see who could raise the most money and be duct taped to a wall the fastest. After the two-day event, Dr. McElwee was declared the winner by a very slim margin of $28.40 over Dr. Jones. The event raised over $12,000 to be used to support the health education programs in Anderson County.
  • Tar Wars: 5th graders all across Anderson County are learning the negative health effects tobacco has on them. Volunteers with Doclink teach them about the short-term and long-term effects, the cost of tobacco use and why people decide to smoke. The lesson also talks about how tobacco companies influence our decisions through advertisements. Below are some pictures from some of the Tar Wars classes.
